Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 August 2026. Written to comply with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018) and the GDPR for readers in Europe.
1. Who controls your data
The controller is Tempowire Media Ltda. (CNPJ a preencher), São Paulo, Brazil. Our data protection contact is privacidade@tempowire.com.
2. What we collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| IP address, browser, device, pages visited, referrer | Every visit, in server logs | Serve the site, keep it secure, detect abuse and measure audience |
| Theme preference (light/dark) | When you use the theme button | Remember your choice — stored in your browser, never sent to us |
| Session cookie | While you browse | Keep the site working and protect forms against forgery |
| E-mail address and name | Only if you subscribe to a newsletter or write to us | Send the newsletter you asked for, or reply to you |
| Anything you send as a tip | Only when you contact the newsroom | Report the story |
We do not ask for sensitive data, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. Reading a health article does not put you in a health-related marketing list.
3. Legal bases
- Consent — newsletters, and any optional cookie you accept.
- Legitimate interest — keeping the site available, secure and measurable.
- Legal obligation — access logs kept for six months, as required by the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Law 12.965/2014).
4. Cookies
We use the minimum we can:
- Essential — session and security cookies. The site does not work without them.
- Preference — your theme choice, stored locally in your browser.
- Audience measurement — only if enabled, and always with IP anonymisation.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
5. Who else sees your data
We do not sell your data. It is shared only with suppliers who help us run the site, and only to the extent they need:
- Hosting and storage — our servers and Amazon Web Services (S3), where article images are stored;
- Fonts — Google Fonts, which receives your IP when the fonts load;
- E-mail delivery — the provider that sends our newsletters;
- Authorities — when there is a legal obligation or a court order.
Some of these providers are outside Brazil. Transfers are made under the safeguards required by the LGPD and, for European readers, by the GDPR.
6. How long we keep it
- Access logs: six months.
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe.
- Messages you send us: as long as needed to handle the matter, then archived or deleted.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to confirm what data we hold, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable format, to withdraw consent, or to object to a particular use. Write to privacidade@tempowire.com and we will answer within 15 days. You may also complain to Brazil's data protection authority (ANPD) or, in Europe, to your local supervisory authority.
8. Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Traffic is encrypted with TLS, access to reader data is restricted to the people who need it, and passwords are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach happens that puts you at risk, we will notify you and the ANPD as the law requires.
10. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes are announced on the home page and, for subscribers, by e-mail.
